KPI Charity Donations July – November 2016

Between July and November 2016 we have been continuing with our monthly charity donations in memory of our late Director Liz Howarth.  Below is just a brief description of the causes our donations have been going to.

July 2016 – Hope House

The July donation goes to Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry provides care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales. The range of services provided includes respite and end-of-life care at the hospice and/or within the family home, and support such as counselling, advocacy and the promotion of children, young people’s and carers’ rights.

August 2016- Railway Children

The August donation goes to Railway Children is a charity, based in Sandbach and working in the UK and also India and East Africa, to provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence or neglect. Reaching a child as soon as possible is crucial to getting to children on the streets before an abuser can, and before they become entrenched in street life. Railway Children races to get to children before the streets get to them

September 2016- North West Air Ambulance Charity

The September donation goes to North West Air Ambulance Charity takes advanced healthcare to scene; reaching, treating and transferring patients to definitive care as quickly as possible and working collaboratively with partners to ensure patients are transferred to the best medical/trauma centre for treatment, thus improving chances of survival and reducing the risk of long term injury. Many critically injured patients would not survive without the service. The service is funded by the generosity of the public through donations, fundraising activity, lottery membership and through a network of retail outlets, who provide vital charitable funding to keep the service flying.

October 2016- Douglas Macmillan Hospice

The October donation goes to Douglas Macmillan Hospice (DMH) provides all hospice services free of charge every day to over 3000 adults with life limiting illnesses in the North Staffordshire area and also provides supportive care for their families and carers. These services are provided through the commitment of a multi disciplinary team of staff and volunteers who are vital in ensuring the services continue at the hospice and out in the community. The Hospice was established in 1973 as a 28-bed care facility for people facing incurable cancer. Over 40-years later a huge range of services has been developed, providing more care and support than ever to people facing non-cancer illnesses. The services have also been extended to cater for people who wish to remain in their own homes, by providing Hospice At Home Care.

November 2016- RASASC Cheshire and Merseyside

The November donation goes to Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Cheshire and Merseyside) / RASASC (Cheshire & Merseyside) is a registered charity committed to supporting people who have been affected by rape or sexual abuse, having offices in Chester, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Knowsley, Halton, Northwich, Macclesfield, St.Helens and Warrington as well as offering outreach support in locations across Cheshire and Merseyside. The charity’s core ethos is to ensure the provision of free community based support that is tailored towards the needs of people affected by sexual violence.
