Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain invaluable experience supporting children before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, or Social Work?

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded primary school in the WA10 area of St Helens. This welcoming and nurturing school is renowned for its commitment to pupil wellbeing, inclusive education, and staff development, making it an ideal environment for aspiring education and psychology professionals.

The Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Assist children with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Support pupils with SEND and additional learning requirements
  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes designed to improve confidence and attainment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Help create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Psychology degree (2:1 or above preferred)
  • Strong understanding of child development and behaviour
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
