KPI Education is working with a number of supportive and inclusive primary and secondary schools across Bromley and Bexley that are seeking dedicated Psychology graduates to join their teams as Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants for the full academic year.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your understanding of child development, learning needs, behaviour management, and educational interventions while making a meaningful difference to pupils' academic and personal progress.
Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – The Role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and support staff to help pupils thrive both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils
- Assisting students with additional learning, behavioural, emotional, or social needs
- Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and SEMH needs
- Helping to implement targeted interventions and support strategies
- Building positive relationships that encourage confidence and engagement
- Supporting classroom learning and lesson delivery
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress where appropriate
- Contributing to a nurturing and inclusive school environment
Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- An interest in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Counselling, or related professions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
- Applicants must live within approximately one hour's commute of Bromley or Bexley and be able to travel reliably to their placement school each day
