As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils across KS3 and KS4, working alongside experienced teachers to build your skills and confidence in a school setting.


Key Responsibilities

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons in core subjects
  • Provide one-to-one and small group academic support
  • Help pupils stay engaged and on track with their learning
  • Assist with behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school life
  • Prepare resources and materials to support learning

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed as an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you should have:

  • Achieved 2:1 or higher in an English degree
  • A genuine interest in working with young people
  • A can-do attitude as well as an enthusiastic attitude towards learning
  • A proactive and supportive attitude
  • Some desire or interest to train as a teacher in the future
  • Experience working with young people in any capacity is desirable but not essential
