Are you a hands-on technical professional with a passion for electronics and precision assembly? KPI Recruiting are looking for a skilled Assembly Operative to join a forward-thinking R&D team at a specialist facility in Bolton.
This isn't a standard "box-ticking" production job. We are looking for an Assembly Operative who can build prototypes, test high-spec components, and support the engineering process from the ground up.
The Role: What will you be doing?
As a Technical Assembly Operative, you will be at the heart of the innovation process. Your day-to-day will include:
- Prototype Building: Assembling and testing new prototypes, including mechanical parts and PCB assembly.
- Precision Soldering: Working with industry-standard passives and processors (0.5mm pitch)—a steady hand is essential.
- Technical Tasks: Handling wire prep, cable assembly, heat shrinking, and "twist and tin" wire work.
- Data & Reporting: Collecting data from long-term experiments and using Microsoft Word/Excel to write up clear reports with photos.
- Maintenance: Repairing PCBs from production and maintaining/installing production equipment.
