Earthing Assistant
KPI Rail and Infrastructure delivers safe, high-quality rail solutions across the UK. We are seeking a motivated PTS Earthing Assistant to support our team with the installation, maintenance, and removal of earthing systems on live rail sites.
Role:
Assist in the setup, testing, and dismantling of rail earthing equipment while ensuring all work meets safety and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and remove rail earthing equipment.
- Support safe working practices and comply with all safety regulations.
- Prepare sites and check equipment before and after use.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.

Job Title: Authorised Person – Isolation Team
Location: Midlands
Pay: £19.00–£21hr
Start Date: Immediate
About Us:
KPI Rail and Infrastructure delivers essential rail infrastructure services across the UK, ensuring safety and efficiency on live rail networks. We are seeking a skilled Authorised Person to join our Isolation Team and maintain the highest safety standards during isolation procedures.
Role:
As an Authorised Person, you will oversee the isolation of railway systems, ensuring the safety of personnel and compliance with Network Rail safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Authorised Person for isolations, issuing and managing isolation certificates.
- Supervise isolation and de-isolation processes, ensuring all safety precautions are followed.
- Coordinate with Control Centre, site supervisors, and engineers to ensure safe and efficient work.
- Ensure personnel have correct clearances and certifications.
- Conduct safety audits, provide guidance, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
- Authorised Person certification for isolation work.
- Experience working on live rail systems.
- Strong knowledge of isolation procedures, risk assessments, and Network Rail standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Role & Pay:
Oversee and manage isolation procedures across live railway environments, ensuring safety for workers and infrastructure. Pay is £28.00hr for days, £29.00hr for nights, and £30.00hr for weekends.

TBM Back-Up Miner
Job Summary:
The TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) Back-Up Miner is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the back-up systems of the TBM. This role ensures the safe and efficient movement of equipment, materials, and personnel within the tunnel, as well as the installation of tunnel support systems and utilities. The Back-Up Miner plays a critical role in ensuring continuous tunnelling operations and tunnel safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Operate and monitor all equipment and systems located on the TBM back-up train.
-
Assist in the installation and extension of services such as ventilation, power, communication lines, water and grout lines.
-
Move and position conveyor systems, rails, and supply lines as the TBM advances.
-
Conduct daily inspections and perform maintenance tasks on the back-up equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
-
Support the mucking operations by overseeing proper conveyor operation and muck car loading, if applicable.
-
Coordinate with the TBM Operator and other team members to ensure smooth tunnelling operations.
-
Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, hazard-free work area at all times.
-
Respond to operational issues quickly to minimise downtime.
-
Document shift activities, maintenance performed, and incidents, and communicate updates to the incoming shift.
-
Perform other related duties as required by the TBM Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working on TBM tunnelling projects is essential.

Strong knowledge of tunnelling methods and tunnel construction equipment.
-
Familiarity with underground safety procedures and risk assessments.

Ability to work in confined spaces and harsh environments.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

CSCS or equivalent tunnelling safety certification (preferred).

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
