This full-time, long-term opportunity is perfect for an English graduate eager to gain valuable classroom experience before moving on to teacher training or postgraduate study.

Graduate English Teaching Assistant – Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support KS3 and KS4 students in English Language and Literature lessons
  • Deliver targeted small group and 1:1 interventions in reading and writing
  • Assist in planning and resourcing dynamic English activities
  • Encourage analytical thinking and strong communication skills
  • Collaborate with English teachers to monitor and support student progress
  • Help students prepare for assessments and improve their literacy outcomes
  • Contribute to enrichment such as book clubs, creative writing, or debating societies

Graduate English Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject
  • Genuine enthusiasm for English and education
  • Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a creative, reflective mindset
  • Confident communicator who is proactive and supportive
  • Interest in pursuing a career in teaching or educational support
