Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification

We are seeking a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant who holds:

  • Recently, or due to graduate with a 2:1 or higher from a top-30 University in History, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy (or related humanities subject)
  • Holds strong A-Levels and GCSE’s
  • You have strong subject knowledge and feel confident explaining key concepts clearly and effectively to students
  • Have some relevant experience, this could be mentoring, tutoring, working at a summer camp (Desirable)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant – Job Description

As a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant your day-day responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside class teachers to deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons.
  • Offering 1:1 or small group support to students who need a confidence boost or a stretch challenge.
  • Helping students navigate complex topics, improve their essay skills, and develop a love for learning.
  • Supporting with enrichment activities such as history debates, geography fieldwork, or philosophy clubs.
  • Assisting in preparing resources, monitoring progress, and contributing to a warm and welcoming learning environment.
