Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification
We are on the hunt for a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant who holds:
- A 1st or 2:1 degree in Education, Psychology, English, or a similar child-focused subject from a Russell Group or top-30 university
- Strong GCSE and A-Level results, especially in English and Maths
- Experience working with children—perhaps through tutoring, mentoring, babysitting, or time spent in schools (Desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and a natural flair for working with both children and adults
- As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you must be warm, patient, and encouraging personality someone who can make a child feel seen, heard, and safe
Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – Role Responsibilities
Your days as a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant will be full of laughter and purpose You’ll work closely with the class teacher to create a warm, welcoming environment and support pupils across all learning levels.
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who need extra encouragement, breaking down learning into bite-sized, manageable chunks
- Stretch and challenge our high-flyers, helping them deepen their thinking and spread their academic wings
- Assist in the planning and delivery of creative, cross-curricular lessons—think maths in the mud kitchen and grammar through fairy tales!
- Help with classroom organisation, displays, and resources that turn four walls into a world of wonder
- Be a calm, reassuring presence for children, always ready with a listening ear, a kind word, and a steady hand
