Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Supporting students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills
- Implementing personalised strategies to boost student engagement and confidence
- Helping students manage behaviour and emotional regulation in a positive, nurturing manner
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to foster self-esteem and motivation
- Assisting with tracking student progress and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Playing a key role in creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment
Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology (or a closely related field)
- A passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN
- Prior experience in an educational or care setting is beneficial, but not essential
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy, patience, and a flexible approach to support individual needs
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine commitment to helping students thrive
- An interest in pursuing a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or SEN support
