A mainstream secondary school in Salford is looking to appoint a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs (SEN) across KS3 and KS4. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025 and offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a diverse and inclusive school environment.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with individual pupils and small groups who require extra support due to additional learning needs. You’ll help remove barriers to learning by adapting classwork, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting emotional regulation—ensuring every student has access to the curriculum.

This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role is particularly well suited to Psychology or Education graduates, but all academic backgrounds are welcome. No prior school experience is needed—just empathy, patience, and a strong desire to make a difference.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • 2:1 degree or higher (Psychology, Education, or related subjects beneficial)
  • Calm, resilient, and proactive approach to learning support
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in SEN, youth work, or care is helpful but not essential
  • Must have UK work rights (no visa sponsorship available)
