About the School – Manchester SEN Setting

This specialist school serves a cohort of students aged 11–19 with a range of complex additional needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, speech and language impairments, and learning disabilities. Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role

  • Earn up to £550 per week
  • Full-time, long-term Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role
  • Work with students 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and development
  • Support emotional regulation, communication, and daily routines
  • Collaborate with SEN teachers and therapists to implement individual support plans
  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Gain insight into intervention strategies, therapeutic approaches, and EHCP processes

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences or related fields preferred
  • Experience working with young people with SEN (in any setting) is highly desirable
  • High levels of empathy, patience, and resilience
  • Confident, calm, and compassionate approach to behaviour and emotional needs
  • A genuine passion for working in SEN education and helping vulnerable students succeed
