The Role – Graduate Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who need additional academic or emotional support.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, with a focus on your subject specialism.
• Help students prepare for assessments, improve their writing, and build confidence in your subject specialism.
• Encourage classroom participation and critical thinking.
• Prepare learning resources and help maintain a well-organised and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with SEN and pastoral teams to ensure all students receive the support they need.

What We’re Looking For – Graduate Teaching Assistant

We’re keen to hear from graduates who are:

• Educated to degree level (2:1 or above) in core subjects or related fields (e.g. Maths, Science, English and Humanities).
• Academically capable, with solid GCSE and A-Level results.
• Passionate about working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
• Confident communicators with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Adaptable, empathetic, and committed to fostering student progress.
• Interested in a long-term career in education—whether in teaching, mentoring, or academic support.
• Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work) is a bonus but not essential.
