Graduate Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

We’re on the lookout for a standout Graduate Teachings Assistant who holds:

  • Graduate with a 2:1 or 1st form a top-30 University in STEM, English, Psychology, Education or related field
  • Excellent academic background (Strong GCSE’s and A-level grades)
  • Experience working with young people either through tutoring, mentoring, sports coaching, summer school or similar (desirable)
  •  A positive, resilient and enthusiastic attitude
  • A clear desire to train as a teacher or work in the education sector

 

Graduate Teaching Assistant: Job Responsibilities

During your time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group academic support to pupils who need a boost
  • Helping plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Supporting students with diverse needs – academically, emotionally and socially
  • Working alongside talented teachers to support students in class – especially in your specialist subject area (e.g., STEM, English or Psychology)
  • Developing your own teaching skills and learning from some of the best in the profession
