Production Operator - Rotating shifts days/noons/nights
Monday to Friday – No weekends

We have taken a fantastic opportunity to join our leading clients manufacturing facility based in Newcastle under Lyme. This role is working as part of a small team, reporting to the Production Supervisor.
The role is a varied production operator position working in all areas of our clients manufacturing processes. Full training will be given on the product range and all manufacturing processes.
Key skills and experience:
Working within a production / factory environment performing manual tasks adhering to Health and safety rules and procedures.
Following standard process procedures and able to document information in a written and numerical way.
The below lists the roles and responsibilities that are required on a day to day basis, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment directly and indirectly associated with production.
- To ensure that all process and quality documents and procedures are followed at all times and that any issues are raised with a manager/supervisor or relevant department as required.
- To reduce product loss and waste at every opportunity through good manufacturing practices.
- To assume responsibility for any in process change over procedures including but not limited to the following:
- Filling out paperwork and process information.
- Material testing and taking samples for QC checks.
- Machine set up /operation and product changeovers.
- To make sure that shift handovers are conducted in a structured and informative way that ensures all areas of the plant are handed over in good order. Information regarding product in process is discussed along with any other relevant information.
- Housekeeping is maintained throughout the shift and in line with handover process.
- Any observed issues or improvements are communicated correctly. I.e. maintenance issues logged in the shift handover book or reported to a manger if convenient.
- Opening up and locking up of site as required dependant on shift.
- Working as part of a wider production team to ensure all operators are working in a safe and supported way.
Shift hours as below Monday to Friday:
- Days – 6am – 2pm
- Noons – 2pm – 10pm
- Nights – 10pm - 6am
£13.00 per hour rising to £14.50 after the successful completion of work based milestones
40 hours per week
Salary £27,040 per annum
- This role would be ideally suited to someone from a strong maufacturing background
- CNC operating experience would be an advantage
- Forklift truck license counterbalance and operation experience would be an advantage
