Thinking About a Career Move? Here’s What to Consider First!
Career changes can be exciting as well as daunting. Whether you're actively seeking a new opportunity or are just feeling a shift which is making you consider a move, it’s important to pause and reflect on your motivations and priorities.

Keeley Callan, KPI's Commercial Director, takes you through the key things to consider.

What’s driving this change?
Is it growth, better alignment with your values, a need for challenge, or something else? Make sure you’re running toward something, not just away from something

What do I value most right now?
Culture, flexibility, impact, salary, learning? Your priorities might look different today than they did a few years ago—and that’s ok.

Am I learning and growing?
If the answer is no, that’s often a signal it’s time to stretch. Growth doesn't always mean a title change—it could mean exposure to new industries, skills, or ways of thinking.

What kind of environment helps me thrive?
Remote, hybrid, in-office? Fast-paced or methodical? Collaborative or independent? Know what energizes you.

Have I talked to people I trust?
Sometimes the best clarity comes from conversations with mentors, peers or even someone outside your industry such a friends and family. You don’t need to navigate this alone.

The decision to explore a new opportunity can come from a desire to align your work more closely with your long-term goals, seeking out new challenges, and continuing to grow in ways that matter to you personally and professionally.

If you're in a similar place, know that it's okay to question where you are. A career is a journey, not a destination—and sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is take that next step intentionally.
