Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturing operation within a heavy industrial and FMCG environment. This role focuses on supporting the leadership of operational teams, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring production runs efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
This position requires a strong people manager who can maintain strict safety standards, ensure teams remain productive, and help drive positive cultural change across the operation.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the management of production teams to ensure safe and efficient operations

Driving a strong safety culture across the site and ensuring all procedures are followed

Ensuring all tasks are completed in line with site safety standards, risk assessments and procedures

Managing team productivity and ensuring operators are performing their roles effectively

Creating and managing production schedules to ensure operational targets are achieved
-
Supporting the technical and operational performance of machinery and production lines
-
Delivering and reinforcing SOPs across operational teams

Supporting training and development of team members to maintain standards and improve performance
-
Driving improvements in team engagement, culture and operational discipline
-
Working closely with engineering and other departments to maintain production flow
What We're Looking For

Strong people management experience within heavy industrial or FMCG manufacturing environments

Proven ability to lead and motivate operational teams
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Strong focus on safety leadership and compliance
-
IOSH qualified as a minimum (NEBOSH preferred)
-
Experience implementing and training operational procedures (SOPs)
-
Ability to organise teams, manage schedules and maintain productivity
