Bench Hand Joiner

Rate: £17.50 - £18 per hour / CIS 

Location: Elland, West Yorkshire

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Bench Hand Joiner to join its growing team. The company specialises in bespoke joinery, including fire-rated doorsets, windows, staircases and cabinetry, offering a supportive working environment and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture bespoke joinery products using traditional woodworking techniques and machinery.

• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, spindle moulders and morticers.

• Read and interpret technical drawings to produce accurate components.

• Assemble and finish joinery products to a high standard.

• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

• Maintain a clean, organised and compliant workshop environment.

Requirements

• Qualifications: City & Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3 in Joinery (minimum).

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a fully trained joiner.

• Proven experience operating traditional woodworking machinery.

• Strong understanding of joinery techniques and materials.

• Ability to read and work from detailed manufacturing drawings.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
