KPi Education is recruiting a BSL Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Highgate. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils with hearing impairments, Autism (ASC), speech and language needs, and complex SEND.
About the SEN School
A welcoming and inclusive specialist SEN school in Highgate is seeking a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Hearing impairments
- Autism (ASC)
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Complex and additional SEND
You will work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists, all committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive education.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support using British Sign Language (BSL)
- Support pupils with hearing impairments across lessons
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Deliver EHCP-led support alongside teachers and SENCOs
- Help maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field (essential)
- BSL Level 2 minimum (Level 3 preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for supporting children with SEN
- Previous SEN experience desirable
