Are you a hands-on C&I Engineer with strong leadership qualities, looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of Instrumentation, SCADA, PLC systems, and automation projects on a highly regulated site, playing a critical role in maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The Role:
As a Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you'll provide both day-to-day operational support and project leadership across all site C&I systems. You'll be responsible for planning, documenting and managing maintenance, troubleshooting failures, and driving system upgrades. This is a role where you'll get the chance to make your mark, shape standards, and lead on improvements.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering safe, compliant, and effective engineering solutions across all C&I systems.

Leading design, specification and implementation of new projects (from FEED through to FAT/SAT).

Troubleshooting, fault finding and software modifications on SCADA/PLC systems.

Carrying out scheduled maintenance, calibrations, loop checks and compliance tasks.

Supporting continuous improvement projects, efficiency gains, and automation upgrades.

Ensuring adherence to legislation and standards (COMAH, IEC 61508/61511, DSEAR).

Working closely with operations, production and project teams to deliver results.

Liaising with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to keep projects on track.
What we're looking for:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Automation / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering OR proven track record with C&G certification.

Strong background in SCADA/PLC programming (Siemens S7 preferred).

Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and loop checking.

Understanding of compliance requirements (IEC 61508/61511, DSEAR/COMPEX, HSWA).

Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, influence and support teams.
