About the Role

We have ongoing opportunities for experienced Housekeepers / Domestic Assistants to work within care home settings across Chippenham and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for a few shifts each week or more regular temporary work, we have assignments available to suit your availability.

This is a rewarding opportunity for reliable and hardworking Housekeepers who take pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments. You will play an important role in ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Working across a variety of care homes, you'll need to adapt quickly to different environments while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, infection control and resident dignity.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean residents' bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard.

• Vacuum, mop, dust and sanitise areas throughout the care home.

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets and frequently touched surfaces.

• Change bedding and make beds as required.

• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and correctly.

• Replenish toiletries and cleaning supplies where required.

• Ensure cleaning equipment and products are stored safely.

• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.

• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and in accordance with COSHH guidelines.

• Maintain residents' privacy, dignity and comfort while carrying out duties.

• Report any maintenance, safety or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

• Follow all company policies relating to Health & Safety, infection control and safeguarding.

• Support the wider care home team when required.

• Adapt confidently to different care home environments and teams.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

• Enhanced DBS

• Previous experience as a Housekeeper, Domestic Assistant, Cleaner or similar.

• Experience within care homes, healthcare, education, hotels or other similar environments is desirable.

• A good understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards.

• An awareness of infection prevention and control.

• Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning products is desirable.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to work efficiently and independently.

• A reliable, hardworking and positive approach.

• Respect for residents' privacy and dignity.

• A flexible approach to temporary and agency work.
