How the training works
You'll spend four days a week in school across the Burnley, Accrington, and Blackburn area, with Wednesdays set aside for online study and professional development.
September – December: Observe lessons, team-teach alongside your mentor, and build your confidence in the classroom.
January – March: Take the lead on planning and delivering lessons, and begin developing your assessment strategies.
April – July: Teach independently, refine your classroom management, and complete your PGCE and QTS.
What you'll need
- A degree in Computer Science, Computing, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (2:1 or above preferred) — or strong A-level Computer Science
- A genuine passion for computing and for teaching
- Strong communication and organisational skills
East Lancashire is well connected by road and rail across Burnley, Accrington, and Blackburn — a driving licence is helpful but not essential.
