Contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical
Location: Leek, Staffordshire
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Temporary Contract (4 Weeks minimum)
We are currently looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills to support a busy manufacturing operation in Leek, Staffordshire.
The role will involve a combination of planned and reactive maintenance, machinery upgrades, installation of new equipment and continuous improvement projects. The successful engineer will be confident working across both electrical and mechanical systems and able to diagnose and resolve faults efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise machinery downtime.
- Install, commission and assist with the integration of new machinery and production equipment
- Carry out machinery upgrades, modifications and improvements
- Electrical fault-finding, including control panels, motors, sensors, relays and associated equipment
Skills & Experience
- Strong multi-skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
- Excellent electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Good understanding of industrial machinery, production equipment and automated systems
- Mechanical skills including bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, conveyors, pumps and pneumatics
- Electrical skills including motors, sensors, relays, contactors, control panels and basic control systems
- Good problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise maintenance tasks effectively
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing both electrical and mechanical breakdowns
- Experience with machinery installation, commissioning and upgrades
