The Role

As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences while ensuring students remain engaged and make progress.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas
  • Maintaining excellent classroom management and behaviour standards
  • Creating a positive and productive learning environment
  • Building strong relationships with students and colleagues
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Supporting wider school initiatives and contributing to school life
  • Upholding the school's high expectations for achievement and conduct

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK secondary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to confidently deliver lessons across multiple subjects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Passion for supporting young people and raising achievement
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Chertsey on a daily basis
