A welcoming and highly regarded primary school in Southwark is seeking an ambitious Early Years Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated Early Years team on a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract. The Role

As an Early Years Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality Early Years provision.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children within Nursery and Reception settings.
  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging and creative learning activities.
  • Supporting children's communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development.
  • Encouraging positive social interaction and emotional development.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions where required.
  • Supporting children with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Person Specification

The school is seeking a motivated and caring individual who is passionate about Early Years education.

Essential Requirements

  • A First-Class Honours Degree or 2:1 Degree from a recognised university.
  • Strong GCSE results (A*-C / Grade 4 and above).
  • Good A-Level results.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working within a Nursery, Reception, or other Early Years setting.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities.

Alternative Qualifications Considered

The school is also keen to hear from candidates holding a CACHE Level 3 qualification who have relevant Early Years experience and are looking to continue developing their career within education.
