A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Leek (ST13 5JW) is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated Early Years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to provide high-quality support that enables every child to achieve their full potential.

About You, To be considered for this role, you will :

  • Have experience working with young children, whether in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrate a caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be passionate about supporting children's early learning and development
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to the wider school community
  • Have the right to work in the UK

The Role, Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities that promote learning through exploration and discovery
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to help children achieve key developmental milestones
  • Supporting the development of early literacy, numeracy, communication, and language skills
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and social development
  • Helping to prepare learning resources and maintain an engaging, stimulating classroom environment
  • Assisting with observations and monitoring children's progress in line with the EYFS framework
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported
