Location: High Peak, Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £57,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off + 18 Days Off Every 7 Rotations

I'm recruiting for an experienced Shift Technician (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established manufacturing business in the High Peak area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive engineering team within a busy, automated manufacturing environment, offering excellent earning potential, long breaks between shift rotations and ongoing opportunities to develop your skills.

 

The Role

  • Carry out electrical fault finding, repairs and maintenance on production machinery.

  • Diagnose faults on PLCs, motors, drives and 3-phase electrical systems.

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.

  • Work with automated equipment to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently.

  • Carry out motor testing and support equipment reliability.

  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve issues.

  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including permit-to-work and isolation procedures.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Time-served Electrical Engineer or recognised electrical apprenticeship/qualification.

  • Strong electrical fault-finding experience within manufacturing or an industrial environment.

  • Experience working with 3-phase systems, motors and drives.

  • PLC fault-finding experience.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

 

Desirable, but not essential:

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.

  • Experience with SCADA or DCS systems.
