About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business that designs and manufactures specialist scientific and industrial instruments used worldwide.
They are seeking a Technical Support Engineer with strong electronics knowledge to provide expert support on their products. This role focuses on assisting customers with technical queries, fault-finding, and ensuring equipment performs to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote tools
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electronic instruments and circuit boards
- Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults efficiently
- Support customers with installation, operation, and maintenance queries
- Carry out root cause analysis and recommend preventative solutions
- Assist with testing and fault-finding on returned or in-house equipment
- Maintain clear and accurate records within the support system
- Work closely with engineering teams to improve product reliability and performance
- Deliver basic guidance or training to customers when required
Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics and circuit boards (essential)
- Experience in fault finding, technical support, or electronics repair
- Ability to diagnose issues at component and system level
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
