An exceptional secondary school in the IG4 area is seeking a talented and ambitious Teacher of English to join its thriving department from September 2026. The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching for suitably experienced applicants. Salary: Outer London Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (£37,870 - £56,154 per annum, dependent on experience and pay scale point).
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a degree in English or a related subject
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is on track to achieve QTS before September 2026
- Can demonstrate successful teaching practice within a secondary school setting (including ECT placements)
- Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English
- Has high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
- Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional development
