A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join its successful English department from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is eager to deliver engaging and ambitious lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for experienced candidates. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an ECT beginning your teaching journey, you will be supported by a collaborative leadership team and a strong whole-school commitment to professional development.
What's the role?
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons
- Inspire students to develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where needed
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS or is on track to achieve Qualified Teacher Status
- Has a degree in English or a related subject(2:1 or above)
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom practice
- Is passionate about raising achievement and aspirations
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Brings energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to the classroom
