I am currently supporting with the recruitment of a new and exciting opportunity of a Fabrication Assurance Engineer to liaise with the fabrications, construction and materials teams to ensure that the fabricated/ checked materials are assembled in a consistent and timely manner. They are the leading European supplier for railway electrification. The company group is active in the business segments RAIL, PRODUCTS and ENERGY. They are a full service provider who offers customers the whole range of services from Consulting and System Design to Installation and Maintenance. You will be responsible for maintaining the tracker for all aspects f the inspection/assurance regime, checking torgue settings, coordinate batch checks of assembled items to ensure compliance with controlled drawings and group standards and oversee a “final check” that all Fabricated items are correctly assembled and technically measured prior to site delivery. As a Fabrication Assurance Engineer you will also be expected to attend periodic site visits to batch sample main steel and foundation materials.

The job holder will provide day-to-day oversight and reporting on the assembly, fabrication and quality control of SPS, Cantilevers, droppers.

You will be ensuring;

  • Part allocation checks and readiness for site
  • Fabrication/part fabrication of OLE components
  • Where parts have been built/dressed prior to site with calibrated tooling, sign off of torque values are to be submitted to the eviFile system
  • Interpretation of ‘as-built’ values and the effect to the ongoing build
  • Experienced being responsible for reporting in accordance with Project requirements.
  • Accurate production of reports
  • Experience in cantilever/dropper assembling

You will have;

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with materials within the rail industry.
  • Good knowledge of OLE material and design
  • Strong IT skills
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
  • PTS desirable
  • Experience in the rail industry materials
  • Well organised and able to work under pressure.
  • Computer literate, with experience of spreadsheets and databases.        
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
  • A sound working knowledge of varying design ranges, OLEMI,Series2, Master Series etc.
  • Experience in administration /supervisory type roles ideally within the railway industry
