Location: WF1
Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate – September 2026

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Geography Lecturer to join a college setting in the WF1 area, teaching A Level Geography students.

This is a high-responsibility position requiring a confident, knowledgeable and experienced educator who can deliver high-quality teaching while taking a proactive role in supporting student progress and outcomes.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with strong previous teaching, lecturing or relevant educational experience. Experience is highly valued for this position, and candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of working with students and delivering positive outcomes are encouraged to apply.

The Role

As a Geography Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective A Level Geography teaching and supporting students throughout their course.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality A Level Geography lessons
  • Ensuring students receive excellent teaching, learning and academic support
  • Monitoring and supporting student progress and achievement
  • Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback on student work
  • Preparing students effectively for examinations and assessments
  • Maintaining high standards of student engagement and classroom management
  • Creating an inclusive, supportive and positive learning environment
  • Providing academic guidance and appropriate pastoral support
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to departmental objectives
  • Taking ownership of student outcomes and supporting students to reach their full potential

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree in Geography or a closely related subject – essential
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching A Level Geography
  • Previous teaching, lecturing or relevant educational experience – highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • The confidence to take responsibility and work independently
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting students to achieve their potential
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

A recognised teaching or lecturing qualification would be advantageous.

Given the level of responsibility attached to this role, significant relevant experience is highly desirable. Candidates who have previously worked within Further Education, sixth form, college or a similar educational environment are particularly encouraged to apply.
