Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher – Paddington

Mainstream Secondary Schools | Paddington, London
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | September 2026 Start
Salaried Training Route | QTS Awarded

Are you a high-achieving Maths graduate with a passion for teaching? A leading secondary school in Paddington is recruiting ambitious graduates to join its Graduate Maths Teacher Training programme from September 2026. This salaried, school-based pathway allows you to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in one year, hands-on classroom experience, and professional mentorship—without the cost of a traditional PGCE.

About the Role

As a Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher, you will:

  • Teach engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities at Key Stage 5.
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 support to boost student attainment and confidence.
  • Develop skills in lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated teaching.
  • Participate in weekly professional development covering classroom management and pedagogy.
  • Support enrichment, problem-solving, and data-driven learning activities.
  • Gradually take on full teaching responsibilities under expert guidance.

This role provides real responsibility from day one, giving insight into a teacher’s daily duties.

Benefits

  • Full-time, salaried training with no tuition fees.
  • QTS awarded after one year, with optional PGCE at no cost.
  • School-based, practical training rather than theory-heavy assessment.
  • Mentorship from experienced Maths teachers and senior leaders.
  • Access to a national network of graduate trainees.
  • Structured increase in teaching responsibilities to build confidence.
  • Excellent preparation for a long-term teaching career in London secondary schools.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A 2:1 or above in Mathematics or related discipline.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Passion for inspiring young people and supporting their Maths progress.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience, initiative, and professionalism in a dynamic school environment.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Previous experience with young people is helpful but not essential—enthusiasm, commitment, and professionalism matter most.

Apply now by sending your CV to Mitchell at KPI Education. Interviews are ongoing, online and in person.
