A thriving and supportive secondary school in Clapham is looking to appoint a dedicated Graduate Academic Mentor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology or school leadership who want to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience.

Working closely with experienced teachers and pastoral staff, you will play an important role in supporting students academically, helping them build confidence in their learning and develop the skills needed for long-term success.

The Role: Graduate Academic Mentor

As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you will support students across a range of subjects and year groups, helping them engage with their learning and make strong academic progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students during lessons by helping them understand key concepts and tasks
  • Delivering targeted support to individuals and small groups who may need additional academic guidance
  • Helping pupils develop effective study habits, revision strategies and organisational skills
  • Working alongside teachers to support lesson delivery and maintain an engaging classroom environment
  • Encouraging students to build confidence, resilience and independence in their learning
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate

This role provides an excellent foundation for graduates who want to build their classroom experience and gain a deeper understanding of teaching and learning.

Candidate Profile
