KPI Education are working with a high-performing school in Camden to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Academic Mentor for an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to use their academic background to support students, develop their mentoring skills and gain valuable school-based experience. The role would suit candidates considering a long-term career in teaching or pursuing teacher training.

The Role

As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you will:

• Provide 1-to-1 and small-group academic mentoring.

• Help students improve their confidence, motivation and approach to learning.

• Support pupils with revision, study techniques and time management.

• Help students identify areas for improvement and set achievable academic goals.

• Encourage independent learning and effective study habits.

• Provide additional support to students who may be struggling academically.

• Build positive relationships with students and act as a supportive role model.

• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs.

• Help students develop their organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.

About You

The successful Graduate Academic Mentor will have:

• A First Class or 2:1 degree.

• A strong academic background and genuine interest in education.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

• A patient, approachable and encouraging manner.

• The ability to explain ideas clearly and adapt to different students.

• Strong organisation and time-management skills.

• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.

• Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work or volunteering experience is advantageous but not essential.
