A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Newcastle is seeking a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical classroom experience while supporting children during a vital stage of their development.

The Role – Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and early Key Stage 1 settings, supporting children’s learning through play-based and structured activities. You will assist class teachers with daily routines, deliver targeted support to small groups and individual pupils, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will support children’s development across key areas including communication and language, early literacy and numeracy, social skills, and emotional wellbeing. This role places a strong emphasis on nurturing confidence, independence, and curiosity in young learners.

This Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant role is particularly well suited to graduates with a background in Early Childhood Studies or Primary Education, though other relevant degrees will also be considered.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience with young children is advantageous but not essential
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
