KPI Education is delighted to be working with an exceptional secondary school in Barnet that is seeking an ambitious Graduate English Academic Mentor to join their team from September on a full-time basis for the entire academic year.

Graduate English Academic Mentor – Role Overview

As a Graduate English Academic Mentor, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing targeted academic support and helping pupils maximise their potential in English Language and Literature.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering one-to-one and small group intervention sessions
  • Supporting students preparing for GCSE examinations
  • Assisting teachers during English lessons
  • Working with high-achieving students to stretch and challenge attainment
  • Supporting pupils who require additional academic guidance
  • Contributing to wider school life and enrichment activities
  • Developing the skills and experience required for a future career in teaching

Candidate Profile

The ideal Graduate English Academic Mentor will:

  • Hold a 2:1 degree or above in English Literature, English Language or a related subject
  • Have a genuine passion for education and literacy
  • Be considering a future career in teaching
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate young people
  • Be committed to working for the full academic year
