Graduate English Teaching Assistant – Candidate specification
We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic Graduate English Teaching Assistant who:
- Graduated or is soon to Graduate from a Top-Leading University with a degree in English, English Literature, English Language, Education or closely related field (Minimum 2:1)
- Must have experience in mentoring, tutoring, or supporting students in an academic context
- As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you should have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and support secondary students
Graduate English Teaching Assistant – Job Role
As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant your reasonability’s will include:
- Providing targeted 1:1 support and small group interventions for students needing additional help in English
- Supporting high-achieving students with enrichment tasks, deeper reading, and extended writing techniques
- Observing lessons to spot opportunities to reinforce learning during and after class
- As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will monitor student progress and feeding back to staff to shape next steps
