What You’ll Do – Graduate English Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the success of students by:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils needing extra help with English.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of high-quality, engaging English lessons.
  • Supporting students with literacy development, GCSE English preparation, and coursework.
  • Encouraging a love of reading, creative writing, and thoughtful discussion in the classroom.
  • Helping students build confidence in comprehension, vocabulary, and expression.
  • Collaborating with teaching, SEN, and pastoral teams to ensure each pupil achieves their full potential.

We are looking for a Graduate English Teaching Assistant who is:

  • A graduate with a 2:1 degree or higher in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject.
  • Academically strong with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

  • Confident, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a collaborative school environment.
  • Experienced working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering) – desirable but not essential.
