We’re working with a forward-thinking Coventry secondary school to recruit a Graduate English Teaching Assistant. This full-time, long-term Graduate English Teaching Assistant role is ideal for an ambitious English graduate looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before progressing to teacher training or further study.

Graduate English Teaching Assistant – Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support KS3 and KS4 students in English Language and Literature lessons
- Deliver targeted small group and 1:1 reading and writing interventions
- Assist in planning and resourcing imaginative, interactive lessons
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills
- Collaborate with English teachers to track and enhance student progress
- Help prepare students for exams and boost literacy outcomes
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as book clubs, creative writing workshops, or debating societies
Graduate English Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or above in English Literature, English Language, or related subject
- Passion for English and its ability to inspire and connect
- Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is an advantage
- Strong subject knowledge with a creative, reflective approach
- Confident communicator who is proactive, adaptable, and supportive
- Keen interest in pursuing a career in education or academic support
