Graduate English Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, long-term role starting from September 2026 for the full academic year
- Earn up to £550 per week
- Excellent secondary schools across Liverpool – multiple opportunities available
- Deliver targeted academic support through 1:1 and small group interventions
- Applicants must hold a 2:1 degree or above in an English-related subject
- Strong knowledge of both English Language and English Literature is essential
- Previous experience within a school setting is advantageous but not essential
- Work alongside experienced English teachers and benefit from ongoing mentoring
- Potential access to in-house teacher training routes from September 2027
- Interviews taking place immediately
About the Role
As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide valuable support to pupils across the secondary curriculum, helping them develop their subject knowledge, improve their confidence, and achieve their academic goals. You may work with students who require additional guidance to overcome learning gaps, as well as high-achieving pupils preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, and future university study.
You’ll become an important part of the English department, working alongside experienced teachers and gaining first-hand experience of effective classroom practice. From supporting individual learners to delivering small-group interventions, you’ll develop practical skills in communication, tutoring, and pupil engagement.
This position offers an excellent foundation for graduates considering teacher training or exploring other careers within education, providing meaningful school-based experience while allowing you to put your degree knowledge into practice.
