Are you a graduate with a 2:1 or above in a relevant degree looking to build a career in education?
We are working with a school in Liverpool L8 seeking a motivated Graduate Learning & Classroom Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain their first hands-on experience in a school environment and develop the skills needed for a future career in teaching, education or pupil support.
The Role
You will work alongside experienced teaching staff, supporting pupils in the classroom and helping them get the most from their education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils during lessons and helping them understand and engage with classroom work.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where pupils need additional guidance.
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
- Supporting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources.
- Building positive relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Helping create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Developing your understanding of different learning needs through practical, school-based experience.
What We're Looking For
- 2:1 degree or above in a relevant subject — Psychology, Education, English, Mathematics, Science or a related discipline would be particularly relevant.
- A genuine interest in working with young people and pursuing a career in education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A confident, patient and approachable personality.
- The ability to build positive relationships and engage pupils.
- A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced teaching staff.
No previous teaching or school experience is required. Your classroom experience starts here, with support from experienced staff as you develop your skills.
