A progressive and inclusive Secondary School and Sixth Form in Ilford, East London is looking for a motivated Graduate Learning Assistant S&L to support students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and work alongside experienced educational professionals.

Role Overview: Graduate Learning Assistant S&L

• Deliver focused language and communication support to students in both one-to-one and small group settings.

• Help pupils develop essential interpersonal, conversational, and independence skills.
• Work closely with teachers and the school’s Speech & Language Therapist to put tailored learning strategies into practice.
• Track student development and adjust interventions to suit individual needs.
• Provide general classroom support to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Who We're Looking For: Graduate Learning Assistant S&L

• A graduate in a relevant field such as Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology, Linguistics, or Education.
• Someone genuinely passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a caring and professional manner.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to working with young people.
• Experience working with children is a plus, but not essential.
