Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 (Pro Rata)

About the Role:

A highly inclusive and well-regarded secondary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their SEN department. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate looking to build a foundation in special educational needs, educational care, or therapeutic disciplines.

You’ll be working with a caseload of pupils who may have EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and diagnosed or undiagnosed needs such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and other learning difficulties. You’ll support them both in the classroom and through tailored interventions, helping them access learning and make meaningful academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN
  • Implement and adapt personalised learning strategies
  • Support with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation plans
  • Work alongside SENCOs, class teachers, and external professionals (e.g., SaLTs and EPs)
  • Track student progress and contribute to review meetings and support plans

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field (minimum 2:1 preferred)
  • Genuine interest in SEN, mental health, and child development
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid) is advantageous
  • Commitment to working full-time for the academic year
