This full-time, long-term role is ideal for an ambitious graduate looking to apply their academic knowledge while supporting students in the English department.

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to support learning and help pupils develop confidence in English and literacy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group academic support in English.
• Assisting students with reading, writing, comprehension, and literacy development.
• Supporting English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Working collaboratively with English teachers and other staff to enhance learning outcomes.
• Helping students build confidence, engagement, and positive learning habits.
• Contributing to a supportive and productive classroom environment.

This role offers excellent experience within a secondary school setting, particularly for graduates interested in pursuing careers in teaching or education.

Person Specification

We are seeking a high-achieving graduate who:

• Holds a 2:1 or above in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject.
• Demonstrates a passion for education and supporting young people.
• Is professional, proactive, and enthusiastic about working in a school environment.
• Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Has experience working with young people or in educational settings (desirable but not essential).

Previous school-based experience is not essential, as full support and guidance will be provided.
