We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school based in Birmingham. What's the role?

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. You will play a key role in helping students across the curriculum to build their confidence and to succeed both academically and socially.

What are the key responsibilities?

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities
  • Help students to stay engaged, focused and motivated in lessons
  • Support the development of students' social and emotional skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff
  • Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing

What are we looking for?

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background (2:1 degree or higher, from a leading university)
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people's learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience and apositive attitude
  • Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
