We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school based in Birmingham. What's the role?
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. You will play a key role in helping students across the curriculum to build their confidence and to succeed both academically and socially.
What are the key responsibilities?
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
- Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities
- Help students to stay engaged, focused and motivated in lessons
- Support the development of students' social and emotional skills
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff
- Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
What are we looking for?
- A recent graduate with a strong academic background (2:1 degree or higher, from a leading university)
- A genuine interest in supporting young people's learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience and apositive attitude
- Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
