Person Specification
To be considered, you'll need:
- A 2:1 degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative subject
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
- A Levels at Grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 3 BTEC qualification
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to become a secondary Maths teacher
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full right to work in the UK
Important: GCSE or A Level equivalency qualifications cannot be accepted for this programme.
The Role
From your first day, you'll become a valued member of the Maths department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing the knowledge and practical skills needed to become an outstanding teacher.
You will:
- Support teaching and learning in Maths lessons
- Deliver targeted numeracy interventions to individuals and small groups
- Provide one-to-one academic mentoring
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Develop your classroom practice under the guidance of experienced Maths teachers
- Build the confidence and experience needed to progress into teacher training
