About the Role

Starting in September 2026, you'll join a successful secondary school as a Maths Trainee Teacher, working alongside an experienced and supportive Mathematics department.

Your training year has been carefully designed to help you develop into a confident classroom practitioner. You'll begin by observing experienced teachers before gradually taking responsibility for planning, delivering and assessing your own lessons, all while receiving regular coaching and feedback.

By the end of the programme, you'll have achieved your PGCE, QTS, and the experience needed to begin your career as a qualified Maths Teacher.

About You

We're looking for ambitious, academically strong individuals who are passionate about Mathematics and committed to making a positive impact on young people's lives.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Mathematics or another highly numerate subject
  • Excellent academic credentials, including strong GCSE and A-Level Mathematics results
  • A consistently strong academic background demonstrating your subject knowledge
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students fulfil their potential
  • Excellent organisational skills and a commitment to continuous professional development
  • The resilience, enthusiasm and professionalism needed to succeed in teaching

Please note: Due to the location of the school, applicants must be able to reliably commute to SK8 4AE on a daily basis. Applications from candidates who cannot reasonably travel to the school each day are unlikely to be considered.
