The Role – Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant As a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning within the Maths department. Your responsibilities as a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant will include:
- Providing targeted academic support in Mathematics, both in-class and through small group or one-to-one intervention sessions.
- Assisting in lesson planning and preparation, with the opportunity to lead parts of lessons as your confidence grows in the Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant position.
- Supporting students to develop strong numeracy, problem-solving, and revision skills, particularly in preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
- Creating a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity and academic success as a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant.
- Collaborating with teaching and pastoral teams to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.
Who We're Looking For – Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant We welcome applications from graduates who are seeking a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant position and are:
- Academically strong, with a 2:1 or above in Mathematics or a related degree (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Economics).
- Confident in their subject knowledge and able to support students across KS3 and KS4 (experience at KS5 is a bonus) in a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant role.
- Passionate about education and enthusiastic about pursuing a career in teaching through this Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant opportunity.
- Excellent communicators with a proactive, professional, and flexible approach.
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is highly desirable, but not essential for this Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant position.
