Coventry | Full-Time | £20,000–£25,000

Help students see that they're capable of more than they think.

Are you a Mathematics graduate who enjoys making sense of complex problems and helping others experience that same moment when something finally clicks?

If you're considering a future in teaching, tutoring or education, this could be your opportunity to gain first-hand experience of school life while putting your degree to practical use.

KPI Education is recruiting a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Coventry.

You'll work alongside experienced teachers, helping students strengthen their mathematical understanding, develop problem-solving skills and approach learning with greater confidence.

Bring Maths to life

As part of the Maths department, you'll provide additional academic support to pupils across the curriculum.

Working 1:1, in small groups and within lessons, you'll adapt your approach to help students with different abilities and levels of confidence engage with mathematical concepts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group Maths support.

  • Helping students understand challenging topics through clear, step-by-step explanations.

  • Developing pupils' mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

  • Encouraging learners who struggle with confidence in Maths.

  • Promoting independent study habits and effective learning strategies.

  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities and differentiated tasks.

  • Encouraging positive participation and engagement during lessons.

  • Collaborating with the Maths department and wider school team.

  • Sharing relevant feedback on student progress where appropriate.

What are we looking for?

This opportunity would suit a graduate who has a strong understanding of Mathematics and enjoys using their knowledge to help others succeed.

You'll ideally have:

  • A Mathematics or closely related degree, preferably at 2:1 or above.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.

  • The ability to explain ideas clearly and make difficult concepts accessible.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • A patient, supportive and encouraging approach.

  • The confidence to establish positive relationships with young people.

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career within education.

Previous school experience is not essential.

Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching or other roles involving young people would be advantageous, but we're also keen to hear from graduates who demonstrate enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to supporting learners.

Develop skills that go beyond your degree

Your first experience in education can provide valuable insight into the profession and help you decide where you want your career to go.

Through this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain practical experience within a secondary school.

  • Support students with different abilities and learning needs.

  • Develop your ability to communicate and reinforce subject knowledge.

  • Build mentoring skills and confidence working with young people.

  • Gain exposure to classroom communication and behaviour management.

  • Learn from experienced teaching professionals.

  • Develop relevant experience for teacher training, tutoring or other education-based careers.

Ready to take your knowledge into the classroom?

If you're a Maths graduate looking to develop your professional skills, gain valuable school experience and help young people build confidence in their abilities, we'd love to hear from you.
